Tournament Guidelines

Welcome to the Cocoplum Pickleball Crown Spring 2026!
This event is designed to be competitive, flexible, and fun — while keeping everything organized and fair for all participants.

Please review the guidelines below carefully:

1. Eligibility

  • Singles Divisions: All players must be Cocoplum residents.
  • Doubles Divisions: At least one player per team must be a Cocoplum resident.

2. Registration (Doubles)

  • For Doubles divisions, both players must register separately.
  • Each player must indicate their partner’s name on the registration form.
  • A team is considered officially entered once both players have registered.

3. Division Placement

  • Men’s & Women’s Doubles:
The division level will be determined by the higher-rated player on the team.
  • Mixed Doubles:
Division level will be determined using the combined rating of both players.
  • Tournament organizers reserve the right to adjust divisions if necessary to ensure fair and competitive play.

4. Match Format & Scheduling

This tournament uses a flexible scheduling format.

  • Each round has a defined deadline date.
  • Players are responsible for contacting their opponents promptly to schedule their match.
  • Matches must be completed before the round deadline.
  • If a match is not completed by the deadline and no reasonable effort has been made to schedule, the tournament committee may assign a default.

How Scheduling Works:

  1. As soon as the round begins, both teams/players should reach out to each other.
  2. Players coordinate a mutually convenient date and time.
  3. Matches are played at Cocoplum courts unless otherwise agreed.
  4. We strongly encourage scheduling within the first few days of the round to avoid last-minute issues.

If players are unable to reach their opponent after multiple attempts, they should notify the tournament committee before the deadline.

5. Pickleball Balls

  • Each player/team must bring one new ball to the match.
  • The winner keeps the unused ball.

6. Score Reporting

  • The winner of the match is responsible for reporting the final score on the tournament website immediately after the match.
  • Scores should include full game results (e.g., 11–4, 3–11, 11–8).

Failure to report scores promptly may delay bracket updates.

7. Sportsmanship

This is a community event. We expect:

  • Respectful communication
  • Fair line calls
  • Good faith effort to schedule matches
  • Positive and supportive sportsmanship
